Highlighting natural Asian black hair - help?

My friend is Asian/Latino mixed she tried to color her hair and wanted to just die a small piece in the front dark blue.It was so black she had to bleach it first and it took forever just to barley turn brown .Because asian hair follicles are so thick store bought kits usually wont work how you want them.If u decide to do it , get a kit two shades lighter than you want.Bleach it first then color it.

I would definitely have this done professionally. I have dark hair and tried highlighting my own hair when I was younger and ended up messing it up completely and then having to go in and have the salon fix it. When you have dark hair and try to highlight it yourself it will turn it orange. You will be glad that you paid the money and had it done professionally. Good luck!
